Powerful Women for Lanvin by Elbaz

Who can satisfy the women's most basic fashion desires? Inspired in his own land of Africa, the Moroccan born Alber Elbaz gets his sexiness and severity from the African winter and a wild daring ritual woman. Fur, plumes and feathers, strong cut and dark shadows. The African tribal element transpire in the heavy statement jewellery that matched the embellished metallic dresses underneath, with embroidery and more feathers. "It's kind of old fashion to see grand girls coming down the stairs. It was so much more relevant to see them moving up. I cannot tell you what a drama it was because everything was built upstairs. If you have an idea and you believe it in it, you had to follow it."- Alber Elbaz. Read the full interview at dazed

"Women ask for masculine tailoring, but they want to feel fragile. They want daywear, but buy evening. I designed a whole lot of draped things, but then it looked like too much. An overdose of fashion." - Alber Elbaz.

"Sexiness is about you" - Alber Elbaz. Who could guess that such a powerful take will come from a shy sweet guy like him... Watch a great special by the NY Times about him, Alber Elbaz and the video bellow.

Playing with dresses and time, Alice in Wonderland

What amused me the most of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland was the way her dresses adjusted to her different heights such in a graceful manner. How laces become ribbons and hold the oversized dress... or stretched to fit her as a mini skirt... beautiful detail. Check it out in the following scene, potion making. The scenography of wonderland and the fantasy of a 19 year old girl that never stop dreaming. Visit their website at aliceinwonderland and watch the trailer bellow. In IMAX 3D is incredible.

Who doesn't want to be Alice... and to be invited to a tea party with a magical key... but wait! or don't... time is running out! Watch Avril Lavigne's video "Haunting" bellow.

Gucci, spicing up camel with ostrich feathers

Frida opened the Gucci's archives for the Fall season. Back to the beginnings of Gucci, cigarette pants suits and camel coats, napa leather and fur, crocodile and suede but with a feminine touch of ostrich feathers. The GG logo from 1973 is back as an elegant classic touch to handbags, clutches and belts. Longer but sexy contoured dresses with sharp selective cutouts showing enough skin. This collection is more mature, classic but sensual to the roots of Gucci heritage. Bravo Frida! Browse the entire collection at style.com and the backstage at gucci.com
